✓ Music theory
✓ An anatomically informed approach to technique
✓ Performance coaching
✓ Recitals, adjudications, and other events

Feldenkrais® Movement Classes for Musicians

Group Awareness Through Movement® classes are built upon the notion that body awareness is an essential part of musicianship. In a class, we explore gentle, novel movements within the context of musicianship, so questions surrounding technique, practice strategy, and performance are a part of each session. The process is extremely restful, which creates the optimal circumstances for discovering new ways to move.

One-on-one movement coaching is also available to all current students as part of private lessons or as a special session for professional musicians looking to improve posture and technique.

Join the mailing list to receive news and updates! If you want to start right away, check out recordings in the digital library or this list of free resources.

Digital Library

Members of my studio enjoy exclusive access to a digital library filled with resources for improving musicianship. The library is constantly growing, and includes practice strategy guides as well as over twenty movement lessons centered upon posture, breath, and general body awareness.

Kind Words

Hi, I’m Katie!

I love to help people make music in a way that feels amazingly good and stress free. This goal brought me to the Feldenkrais Method of Movement Education®. This training program helped me develop a special set of tools for tackling concerns like “How do I play with both hands at the same time?” and “How do I prevent my tennis elbow from flaring up while I play?”

I frequently present to local musicians groups on wellness related topics such as breathing, posture, and stress reduction. I also offer special classes for universities, music schools, and private studios.

My musical journey began at the age of six when I started taking lessons with a family friend. In 2009 I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Piano Performance. I have a background in collaborative piano and am a performing member of the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle. I’m also a National Certified Teacher of Music and a Certified Oxygen Advantage Breathing Instructor.

When not making music, I love being outdoors and cooking for my family!
